This weekend the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing team were in action for the final time this season as the 2026 Quattro Group British Supersport Championship drew to a close at Brands Hatch, where Oli Bayliss and the Macadam team wrapped up the season third overall, with the Halifax-based team clinching the teams’ trophy.

In typical Brands October style, Friday’s practice started wet and cold, but conditions improved into the afternoon and on combined times Bayliss was second overall, with teammate Max Wadsworth 13th.

Heading into Saturday’s qualifying conditions were near perfect at the 2.43-mile Kent circuit, which saw Bayliss finish third quickest, awarding him a front-row start for the 12-lap Sprint Race, with Wadsworth tenth fastest.

Off the line Bayliss was down to fourth, but it wasn’t long until he made his way back into third aboard the Street Triple 765 RS, where by the fourth rotation he and championship rival Jack Kennedy were locked in battle.

From there it was neck and neck between the pair swapping places between first and second as the laps counted down. However, as the race reached its conclusion Bayliss made his move, taking the lead and holding off a chasing Kennedy to claim his 11th win of the season. Wadsworth crossed the line 12th.

Sunday’s schedule was brought forward with wet-weather hitting the Kent circuit for the afternoon’s activities, which saw the final Supersport race brought forward to 13:40 (local time). As the machines went to the grid, the rain started to fall and a wet race was declared over 12 laps.

Bayliss opted for a full wet setup, with Wadsworth on a wet front and intermediate rear. As the warm up laps got underway, the rain stopped and a drying track turned tyre choice into a crucial part of the race. Bayliss had a good drive off the line from his fourth place spot, but a busy first turn saw the field bunch together.

Sticking with the front group throughout race distance Bayliss eventually crossed the line taking fourth place, his first finish of the year not on the podium, which concluded not only a successful season for the Australian but also the Macadam team with 11 race wins from 16 starts, four podiums and three pole positions. Wadsworth ended his year crossing the line in 24th.

Meanwhile the XMT Racing team followed their two podiums at Donington Park last time out with Josh Whatley, claiming the final Supersport race win with wildcard Luke Jones aboard their Street Triple 765 RS machine.

Oli Bayliss:

“I’m pretty happy with this weekend, we took the win in the opening race and finished fourth in today’s race. I didn’t really have a bad feeling in that race, I just wanted to come home in one piece. I had nothing to prove, I tried my hardest but I’m not really the best rider in wet conditions so I’m happy with that result in fourth. The team has done a great job all year, so a huge thanks to the Macadam crew, Triumph, Darrell from GSE Group, my girlfriend, as well as all my friends and family for the support. It’s been a great year, 11 wins, four podiums and one race we weren't on the podium, so we can’t complain with a year like that!”

Max Wadsworth:

“We had a difficult start to the weekend after a fairly big highside in FP1, which made things difficult for myself. I was happy with my pace in the dry where we set some personal bests, I had the pace but just couldn’t string it all together for qualifying. In race one it was a bit of damage limitation, and in race two we went with the wrong tyre choice, which just made things difficult. All in all, it’s not been a bad weekend and we’re coming away with some positives. A huge thank you to the team and to everyone at Triumph for this season.”
