Camden Mclellan Victorious in Lommel as Guillem Farres Extends Mx2 Series Lead

Triumph Factory Racing’s Camden McLellan has claimed a commanding MX2 class victory at the MXGP of Flanders, winning both races to secure first overall. The TF 250-X racer was in fine form at round 14 of the MX2 World Championship, with his exceptional result coming one day after winning the qualifying race. Guillem Farres also performed well in Belgium, finishing second behind his teammate and securing the sixth double podium result for the team this season.

Lommel in Belgium was the venue for the latest round of the MX2 World Championship and after finishing as runner-up at last year’s Grand Prix, McLellan was determined to go one better in 2026. The South African signalled his intent early on around the deep sand track to post the fastest time in timed practice, before winning the qualifying race by a comfortable margin.

In the opening Grand Prix race, the South African was forced to work hard for his victory after starting just inside the top 10. On lap 12, he took the lead when Farres made a mistake and from there, he controlled the race to pick up his third moto win of the year.

McLellan enjoyed a much better start in race two and moved into third on lap three. He then chased down Farres, who led through the opening laps, and Simon Laengenfelder, before passing them both within a few laps. From there, Camden once again maintained his impressive pace to secure the win and claim the first 1-1 result of his career. Remaining third in the championship standings, McLellan has now reduced the gap to second to just 13 points.

MX2 World Championship leader Farres was also on form in Belgium and arrived at the Grand Prix confident after winning the last four rounds. Leading both races highlighted his sand-riding ability, and the Spaniard ultimately placed third in the opening moto and second in race two for second overall. More importantly, Guillem has extended his lead at the top of the standings to 47 points.

Rounding out another strong weekend for riders on Triumph machinery, Dirt Store Triumph’s Billy Askew won EMX250 race two on his way to second overall, while in MXGP, Ben Watson secured the best-ever Grand Prix result for the TF 450-X in the premier class with seventh overall.

Leaving Lommel and with another successful Grand Prix complete, the team will now enjoy a weekend off before resuming with round 15 on August 15-16 in Uddevalla, Sweden.
